Good morning mid-Missouri!
The heat is on again today across the Show-Me state. Yesterday was the warmest day of the year with a high temperature in Columbia at 95. With south-westerly winds, expect much of the same on Monday with highs in the middle 90s.
As a cold front slides in from the north tonight, we will likely see showers and a few thunderstorms develop and move through. A few of these storms could be strong to severe with large hail and damaging winds being the main threat.
Following the passage of the cold front, highs should slip down into the middle 80s for Tuesday and Wednesday before pushing into the lower 90s by the end of this week.
As always with excessive heat, remember to stay cool! Protect yourself from the sun by wearing plenty of sunscreen and if you are heading outdoors, take frequent breaks in order to avoid getting sick from the heat.
Mike
