Nearing the end of October

It's hard to believe that the month of October is almost over. The first half of the month brought us the coolest temperatures that we have ever seen here in Mid Missouri. We averaged almost 10 degrees below normal (and that only includes the first 15 days!). Also, as far as precipitation goes, we were already the 5th wettest October recorded on the 15th. We have continued to see rain falling through the latter half of the month as well. This just continues to move us up further in the Wettest October column. I will have more details once we close out the month.

We have seen more cloudy days than sunny ones lately. This is partly due to a split polar vortex as well as blocking of weather systems. We will see the clouds begin to break up for your Wednesday afternoon but they will move right back on in by Thursday into Friday. We will continue to usher in showers and a few rumbles of thunder as we near the weekend. However, the weekend clears out and we will dry up. It will be quite nice to see the sun again. Halloween is looking good for all the trick-or-treaters!
