The cold front has moved through leaving us with a cool and dry air mass as we head on into our Friday. The clouds will move out overnight tonight leaving us with a pleasantly cool evening as temperatures fall back into the upper 50s tonight. Open up those window and turn off the air!
In Mid Missouri, we will see mostly sunny skies on Friday with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. A picture perfect afternoon! If you have to work, get out and take a walk in the evening or even BBQ for dinner. The rain comes back into the picture on Saturday, with some spotty activity across the area. More details to come on the forecast tonight at 5,6, and 10!

A Bit of Mid-Week Unsettled Weather
A cold front begins to drop into our region this afternoon, leaving us with some showers and thunderstorms scattered about in nature. This will last into the evening hours as well. I think that most of the rain will get pushed out of here by midnight. We might see a few lingering showers possible. Your Wednesday will be comfortable as a slightly drier air mass moves in. We should see highs in the lower 80s.
The rain will stay away until the overnight hours on Wednesday into your Thursday when we see a shortwave cold front move through, interrupting out atmospheric conditions. The good news is that none of this looks to be severe at all. We will not have the instability for that. Just some nice summertime showers and thunderstorms to curl up on the couch and watch a movie or read a book to!

A Nice Next Few Days
We have hit mid week and we will continue to see sunshine as we close out the work week. A high pressure system will be overhead leaving us plenty of open sky which will in turn help temperatures to warm up. Winds look to gradually shift from the Northwest to the South as we work our way into your Thursday and Friday afternoons. This will allow temperatures to begin a gradual warm up. Highs tomorrow afternoon will be in the middle 80s and look to get up close to 90 degrees for your Friday.
The warmer weather Friday will spark some instability in the atmosphere causing some showers overnight lingering into you Saturday morning. The rain doesn't look like it will stick around for long though as we continue into the weekend. Should be pretty pleasant with highs in the mid and lower 80s. Have a good rest of your week Mid Missouri!

The BEAUTIFUL Weekend Ahead....
After we get past this evening with a few showers and rumbles of thunder, we are going to be set up for the picture perfect weekend! As the cold front finally makes its way through our viewing area, this will drop temperatures off significantly from the typical average for this time of year. The nice Canadian air will not only bring us the cooler temperatures but a much drier airmass that will keep the humidity to a minimum.
If you have any big outdoor plans for Saturday or Sunday, you will be able to enjoy your time outside. If you don't have plans, I suggest making some! It will be the best weekend of summer!

Unsettled Weather for Wednesday
Overnight, it appears that we might see a few thunderstorms roll through the area. Otherwise a mostly cloudy sky overnight. I think we will see more action as we hit mid week.
For our Wednesday, it appears there may be some unsettled weather in Mid Missouri. As a warm front lifts into the region, it will leave us in the warm sector with plenty of Warm Air Advection (WAA). The low level jet will also be feeding plenty of moisture into the area. Add in the warm temperatures and we will be seeing a few scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms have the potential to be strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has us in a slight risk for severe weather: http://www.spc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/outlook/ You can read more about it at this link.

Mid Week Warm Up
Temperatures will slowly be on the rise as we head into the weekend. The ridge of high pressure looks to stay in control keeping the showers and thunderstorms away, at least until the weekend. Highs look to top out in the lower 90s for your Thursday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons. At the present moment, the humidity does not look to be all that high. This will make the heat not seem as bad as what we saw at the end of June.
We will see unsettled weather as we head on into the weekend. A front looks to stall out, leaving us with chances for showers and thunderstorms starting Saturday continuing into the beginning of the work week as well. At this point, nothing looks severe but it is too early to tell. We will continue to monitor this situation.

Unsettled Weather Into The Holiday Weekend
As we head into the Fourth of July weekend, I am expecting to see some scattered showers and thunderstorms around the area. The good news is that by no means will this be a complete washout. We will see some peaks of sunshine as well as some scattered convection.
As a low pressure system works its way across the nations midsection, the warm front will continue to push to the north as the cold front slides in behind it. This is the reason for the thunderstorms. Most of the activity will be in the afternoon hours and slowly moving out by the evening, just in time for the holiday fireworks displays. I hope everyone has a Happy Fourth of July, Be Safe!
